Inspection & Analysis

Picture
Mid Iowa Grain Inspection, owned by SGS, opened their first laboratory at Prairie Creek Grain in the fall of 2006, providing Federal Grain Inspection Services (FGIS) for export grains loading in Elwood, IL.  In June 2009 they opened a product analysis laboratory providing phytosanitary inspections, product analysis, and surveyor services at Prairie Creek Grain.  Prairie Creek Grain is the only facility in the USA that has both a grain inspection and product analysis laboratory onsite for container loading, ensuring quality from truck unload to outbound containers.

Mid Iowa Grain Inspection  (MIGI)  assures that all grain and products produced, stored or otherwise  loaded by Prairie Creek Grain, or Trans Coastal meet the highest standards of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and certify all grains loaded are graded by the Federal Grain Inspectors.

Outside laboratory testing services are also available at customers request.  Normal product analysis includes protein, moisture, fat, fiber and ash utilizing A.O.A.C., Near Infrared Technology, and G.A.F.T.A. approved methods to provide criteria required for exportation.

Mid Iowa Grain Inspection can also test:
Aflatoxin
Vomitoxin (DON)
Melamine
Zearalenone
T-2
Fumonisins
Xanthrophyll
Urease
Hunter Color

All tests are  conducted under the strict guidelines set forth by the USDA and meet all requirements prior to a FGIS certification being issued.

If you have  any questions or concerns regarding our testing services or facilities, please contact Dennis at 815-432-6604.

Export Documentation

Picture
In an effort to make things as convenient for our customers as possible, Trans Coastal works with the following freight forwarding companies: Active Link Logistics, LLC, Double River Forwarding, LLC, and Benchmark Worldwide Logistics, Inc.

We have found these three freight forwarding companies to be superior in  export documentation, working with LC documentation, and with inspection/analysis reports.
